We are delighted to announce that our current pupils Leonie James and Tadhgh Barwell O’Conner have been offered tenancy at 1KBW effective from October 2020 on the completion of their pupillage.
Leonie James

Leonie specialises in all areas of family law. Prior to starting pupillage, Leonie was a Research Assistant at the Law Commission, working on the ‘Building Families Through Surrogacy’ and ‘Making a Will’ projects. Leonie is a qualified solicitor, having completed her training contract at a leading family law firm where she gained experience in high net worth matrimonial finance and private law children. She volunteered on a regular basis in a legal advice centre, advising on all areas of law and managing her own cases.
Tadhgh Barwell O’Conner
Call: 2019
Tadhgh is a second six pupil accepting instructions in all areas of family law. During his pupillage Tadhgh witnessed complex matrimonial finance, private and public law children work, and child abduction matters while supervised by Nicholas Anderson, Victoria Green, Peter Newman, and Charlotte Hartley.
At law school Tadhgh was a finalist in mooting competitions at both the UK Supreme Court and the European Court of Human Rights and won both the Lincoln’s Inn Mooting Competition and Debating Shield. He has also successfully represented parents for the School Exclusion Project, is Vice Chair of Governors at Evelina Children’s Hospital School, and is involved in FreeBar, an LGBT+ organisation promoting diversity and inclusivity at the Bar.
