We are delighted to announce that Her Honour Judith Rowe KC has joined 1 King’s Bench Walk as an Associate Member, with immediate effect.
Judith brings a wealth of experience from her distinguished career both as a barrister and as a judge. She will be practising in the areas of mediation and early neutral evaluation, applying her extensive judicial expertise to resolve children law disputes.
In practice, Judith specialised in children’s cases for over 25 years, representing parties in the most complex private and public law cases, and acting for parents, children, and local authorities. She has a deep understanding of the emotional and psychological toll that litigation takes on parents and the impact it has on children.
In her years as a Judge, she was huge supporter of ADR, encouraging parents to work constructively for resolutions outside the Court. She is now a proud trustee of MiD Mediation and Counselling Services, a mediation services provider specialising principally in family law issues concerning children.
Judith Rowe was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1979, and to Lincoln’s Inn in 1988. She took Silk in 2003 and was elected a Bencher in 2007. Judith was appointed a Recorder in 1999 and authorised to sit as a High Court Judge in 2005. She became a Circuit Judge in 2012 and served as the Designated Family Judge for West London from 2014 to 2022. In 2020, she was appointed a Senior Circuit Judge, retiring in 2024.
