We are delighted to announce that Alexander Chandler is to be appointed Queen’s Counsel. The official ceremony will take place in early 2022.
Alexander is one of the leading matrimonial finance barristers in the country, specialising in high-value matrimonial finance and claims for financial provision under Schedule 1 to the Children Act. He maintains a broad practice including Trusts of Land claims and is regularly instructed in intervener claims and cases that involve an overlap between family and civil law and procedure. He represents individuals, trustees and companies and has advised in international cases before the courts in Jersey, Gibraltar and Bermuda.
Recent important cases include BT v CU [2021] EWFC 87 , BC v BG [2019] 2 FLR 337, Shokrollah-Baebee [2019] 1 WLR 6517, FN v AN [2019] EWHC 3806, AB v CD (Global Maintenance) [2018] 2 FLR 150, R v R (Circumvention of Sanctions Regime) [2016] 2 WLR 127.
Alexander is an experienced private FDR judge and arbitrator who also sits as a Recorder in the Financial Remedies Court.
Described in Chambers and Partners 2022 as “a superb advocate” and in Legal 500 2022 as having “an excellent manner with clients, solicitors, opponents and the judges”, he has been recommended for many years as a leading practitioner in family law.
