Caroline has been a specialist children law practitioner over many years, having previously also practiced in criminal law. Her existing work covers both public and private children law, and she appears at all levels of tribunal mainly as sole counsel, but occasionally she is led by eminent Silks in the area.
Caroline has experience of representing local authorities, parents, guardians and children, and also undertakes direct access work. In her public cases, Caroline has conducted cases involving the most serious allegations of harm to children including murder, sexual assault, fictitious illness, injury and neglect. In private law, Caroline covers all areas including child arrangements and internal and external relocation.
With her history of criminal law, Caroline is able to lend a unique perspective on cases with family law and criminal law issues at play and has significant experience conducting cases which involve both proceedings. Her background in criminal law has provided her with particular strengths in relation to handling witnesses and cross-examination.
In public law Caroline has experience of representing local authorities, parents, guardians and children direct. Caroline has experience in cases involving serious allegations; including murder, sexual assaults and fabricated illness. Caroline has experience of conducting cases involving significant numbers of expert witnesses. Caroline specialises in cases where there are overlapping criminal proceedings, in particular cases where there are allegations of sexual abuse or serious violence.
In private law, Caroline covers all areas including child arrangements and internal and external relocation.
